Jesse Schewchuk - UNMUTED: From Taboo to the Truth About Menopause

Menopause isn’t an issue to solve—it’s a transformation to understand.

In this inspiring and eye-opening talk, Jesse Schewchuk (Ms. Jesse Muse) challenges the silence surrounding one of the most significant transitions in a woman’s life. Through humour, honesty, and lived experience, she explores how menopause reshapes identity, relationships, health, and everyday life—and why understanding it matters to everyone, not just women.

When we stop whispering about menopause, we create stronger families, healthier communities, and a more compassionate society.

It’s time to get Unmuted.

Jesse Schewchuk is a marketing powerhouse, storyteller, and speaker with more than two decades of award winning television experience. She is the Founder and President of The Menopause Mission, a non-profit that is transforming the menopause experience by connecting women with trusted experts, evidence-based education, meaningful connection, and stigma-breaking conversations.

Known for turning vulnerability into a superpower, Jesse leads with passion and authenticity, creating rooms where people feel seen, heard, and brave enough to own their story, with sharp insight, quick wit, and just the right amount of mic drop energy.

Dr. Heather Bracken, D. Ac, H.H.P. - Nourishing Vitality: How to Make Midlife Your Juiciest Phase Yet

Vitality. Resilience. Essence. Nourishing these foundational elements of the Body, Mind and Spirit are a central theme in what the Chinese call, the “Second Spring.”

Like any healthy garden, our life’s vital force is something to be tended to and watered daily, in order to be deeply nurtured from the roots up. Without proper tending, this phase of life can easily leave us feeling deleted and worn out.

By weaving together Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory, Clinical Herbalism and Western Medicine, Dr. Heather Bracken will teach us how to “water our gardens” by nourishing ourselves and our hormones through simple and relatable lifestyle hacks, herbal medicine, acupuncture and so much more.

We all deserve to create a life where we can more fully embody rest, joy and lean into our most radiant, glowing and juiciest Selves. This discussion will serve as a platform to lean more fully into a life where we feel our most glowing, radiant and juicy… in all areas of our lives.  We promise, the juice will be worth the squeeze, Ladies!

Dr. Heather Bracken is a Doctor of Acupuncture, a Clinical Herbalist and a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, as well as being the Founder of an Edmonton-based multidisciplinary clinic called The Garden Holistic. Heather is also the co-founder of The Shift. Heather has specialized in both Women’s Hormonal Health, as well as Mental Health for almost two decades in private practice, and is deeply passionate about educating and empowering women along the way.

Heather is also a mom to two beautiful girls (as well as her English Bulldog) and a wife to her husband, a co-owner in their wellness business.

Kaye Burrows - WTF Is Happening to My Body? Your No-BS Guide to Perimenopause

Kaye Burrows is the founder of Core Love Fitness and a Menopause Certified Coach.

For over 10 years, she’s worked with hundreds of women through every stage of womanhood — pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and beyond — and knows firsthand how much confusion exists around exercise, hormones, and what our bodies actually need.

The fitness industry’s standards and fads are rarely research-backed or realistic for women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. With so much misinformation online, Kaye is passionate about making sure women have accurate, evidence based guidance for their transition into menopause.

In her session, Kaye will cover the changes perimenopause brings to muscle, bone and fat distribution and how this impacts our health and body image. You will walk away with clear next steps based on the latest research to feel better in your body today and in the future.

As a former university athlete now hiking up mountains all summer and skiing in the winter, lifting heavy weights and chasing after her own three kids, Kaye is living proof that strength and energy don’t end in our 30s. Women deserve to feel confident and chase their dreams no matter what stage of life.

Joanna Brown - NAVIGATE YOUR WAY: Mastering Your Hormones for Energy, Vitality & Longevity

The energy that fades by afternoon. The 3am wake-up. The weight that won’t budge. It’s not in your head, and it’s not just aging. It’s your hormones shifting, and your body asking to be understood.

In this empowering, practical session, Functional Hormone Specialist & Clinical Nutrition Practitioner Joanna Brown maps out what’s really happening through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Guiding you stage by stage with the food-first tools to navigate each turn. You’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and a real roadmap for your next season.

Because this isn’t your decline. It’s your breakthrough.

Joanna Brown is a Functional Hormone Specialist and Clinical Nutrition Practitioner with more than 20 years in women’s health. She spent her first chapter co-leading inside Alberta traditional health care system, and now spends her days guiding women worldwide through perimenopause, menopause and beyond. Founder of Rejoice Nutrition Wellness, National Best-Selling Author, and CSNN instructor, Jo cuts through the noise with real food and straight answers, helping women navigate their hormonal seasons in a way that cracks them open to their most powerful, confident selves.

Kristen Redhead - Strong From the Inside Out: Pelvic Health in Perimenopause and Beyond

Join us for an informative discussion on pelvic health during the menopause transition. We will look at how hormonal and physical changes can influence the pelvic floor, the urinary system, pelvic organ support, and sexual health, with a focus on education, symptom awareness, and evidence-informed physiotherapy approaches that support day-to-day function and quality of life.

Kristen (she/her) is the co-founder of Shift Physiotherapy & Wellness and is extremely passionate about pelvic health.

Kristen chose to focus her practice in the pelvic health field while doing her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at the UofA. One of her graduate placements was with the Urogynecology Clinic at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, and she witnessed first-hand how urogynecological surgeries, pessary fittings, education and pelvic health physiotherapy treatments could improve a patient’s quality of life. Instantly, she knew she’d found her calling. After graduating from the Masters program in 2012 she immediately dove into the pelvic health world.

Kristen is all about setting realistic goals that are meaningful to her patients and helping them get to a point where they can manage symptom flare-ups on their own. More than anything, Kristen cares about reminding clients that investing in their health is one of the best investments they can make. When it comes to pelvic health, too often we ignore or “live with” symptoms. Although pelvic floor dysfunction is common, it is not normal and she is here to help!

Kristie Bennett - The Midlife Reckoning Keynote

We spend midlife being told what’s wrong with us — hormones, mood, memory, motivation, our changing bodies — without ever being told what’s right about what’s happening. In this closing session, Registered Psychologist Kristie Bennett draws on her own midlife reckoning, and her clinical work with women 45+, to reframe the chaos of this stage as the beginning of something, not the end of everything. Speaking both as a psychologist and as a woman who has lived this shift herself, Kristie will walk you through why the unraveling happens, why it traps so many women even after they understand it, and what it actually looks like to rebuild — not back into who you were, but into who you’re becoming. You’ll leave with language for what you’ve been feeling, and one concrete practice to carry the reckoning forward.

Kristie Bennett (MC, R.Psych) is an Edmonton-based Registered Psychologist specializing in the mental health of midlife women. She’s the creator of The Midlife Awakening™ and holds specialized training in women’s mental health, menopause, disordered eating, and body image, alongside certification in interpersonal neurobiology. Kristie’s work is grounded in more than clinical training — she’s lived her own midlife reckoning, and she’s passionate about helping other women recognize theirs not as a breakdown, but as a beginning.
