July’s New Moon in Leo

This New Moon in Leo is an invitation to connect to our inner fire in a gentle way.

The lesson of Leo is not to be the biggest, baddest, most opinionated person in the room but the one who leads with the most amount of love.

Excerpt from, “RISING WOMAN”

Leo is connected to:

STRENGTH, GENTLENESS, COMPASSION, A SOFTENING OF OUR AGGRESSION AND ANGER TO MAKE WAY FOR MORE LOVE

Leo is connected to the Strength card in traditional Tarot, where the image is of a woman taming a lion by gently holding its mouth open. She shows how to use gentleness as a way to take our animal selves.

This serves as an example to us as to how self-compassion towards ourselves and compassion, love and tolerance of others, as opposed to using aggression, anger or force, can be the most powerful process in the world.

Our True strength isn’t how tough we are. How angry we can get or how aggressive we are, but in how gently and gracefully we can treat ourselves and others.

This New Moon is also only days before a very important cosmic event. The conjunction of Mars, Rahu and Uranus. This event can bring about intensity, aggression, volatility and expected events. A lot can come up around this time both outwardly and inwardly, so we must be as gentle as possible with ourselves and others.

When we feel the fire rising and the urge to communicate from our lower selves this week, we must take a step back, connect into our hearts and remember to speak as sweetly as possible.

A New Moon brings forth an opportunity to set our intentions for the next month. We can do that using whatever rituals feel best for us. Prayer, meditation, nature time, there are many ways to honor this moon phase.

A Divine and Grateful thank you to “Rising Woman” for her words of wisdom on this New Moon in Leo & artwork by HolgaJen on Etsy.

Exciting Clinic Updates!

EMELY COOK

EMOTIONAL/ METAPHYSICAL KINESIOLOGY

The Garden welcomes Emely Cook, who is a student of a kinesiology modality called Emotions and Metaphysical Kinesiology.. as part of her studies, Emely is looking for practice clients to participate in a free kinesiology balance-available on select Sundays of every month.

Kinesiology is a holistic treatment modality that uses biofeedback/muscle testing via the nerve pathways and meridian systems to tap into the subconscious mind to clear stress and imbalances within the body.

Our subconscious mind is where we hold our patterns, beliefs and behaviors which runs a majority of our daily lives. When we tap into this and gently lean into the wisdom of the body we can give it space to speak. Essentially, we are shifting and clearing at a subtle energetic level to bring the body back into balance and harmony.

Kinesiology can assist in physical, mental, emotion and spiritual stresses. A few examples are:

  • Anxiety, over-thinking, worry
  • Clearing limiting beliefs
  • Self-sabotage
  • Connecting to your truth/purpose
  • Body acceptance
  • Increase self-worth, self-confidence
  • Feeling stuck
  • and much more!

Throughout the session, a variety of different remedies are used to clear depending on what your body tests up for. Your body innately knows what you need! Some remedies include:

  • Acupressure points
  • Essential Oils
  • Sound healing
  • Oracle cards
  • Color therapy
  • Clearing spray
  • Flower Essences
  • Nature

As we begin to shift layers and clear energetic space, we can invite new/aligned energy, beliefs, and thoughts to take place. It is a beautiful, gentle approach to healing from the inside out.

Emely’s Belief/ Purpose as a Practitioner:

“A great freedom lies within when we choose to step through all the stories that are holding us back. My deepest desire is to support clients through kinesiology to shift, clear and release blocks and stresses from the inner realm. We can then create space to rise into alignment with who we truly desire to be.”

If you would like to book a session or get more information, please connect with Emely at emelcowa@gmail.com.

Areas she is especially fascinated by include mental health, nervous system regulation, women's health, cosmetic acupuncture, and energy work. Makenna is there to guide you to a place of calm, balance and serenity, no matter where you’ve come from or where you are in your journey. Sydney Stanicky

About:

"My purpose is to restore balance, relieve pain, and promote holistic well-being through compassionate, individualized acupuncture care. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, I empower patients to take an active role in their healing journey; nurturing harmony between body, mind, and spirit."

Sydney’s journey into the world of healing began behind the chair as a hairstylist, where she first discovered the joy of connection — listening deeply, holding space, and helping people feel their best. Over time, she felt a quiet calling within her heart, one that guided her toward acupuncture and the timeless wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Her path was shaped both by her own healing and the story of her family. After years of living with chronic headaches, Sydney found that acupuncture was the only thing that truly brought her relief. At the same time, watching her father navigate ongoing health challenges stirred in her a deep desire to help others find comfort, balance, and hope through natural medicine. These experiences together became the roots of her calling, inspiring her to devote her life to holistic healing.
Sydney believes that true wellness comes from tending to the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. She sees mental health as the foundation of physical well-being, and her work is guided by a love of spirituality, natural healing, and the human connections that make life meaningful. With a gentle and compassionate approach, she is especially passionate about supporting women’s health, mental wellness, digestive issues, and headaches, always seeking to bring balance by treating the root rather than only the symptoms.
Beyond her practice, Sydney finds nourishment in nature. Whether she’s camping under the stars, fishing by the water, or rollerblading in the warmth of the sun, she feels most alive under open skies — connected to the world around her and renewed by its beauty.
For Sydney, healing is not just about easing pain, but about rediscovering balance, resilience, and connection — both within ourselves and with the world around us.

Steven Wong R.Ac

About:

Hi, I’m Steve!

I’m a graduate of the Acupuncture program at MacEwan University, and my journey into acupuncture has been both professional and deeply personal. With a background in biomedical engineering, I’ve spent years working in clinical and laboratory settings. However, acupuncture has been a part of my life long before it became my career. Having received treatments since childhood, I’ve experienced firsthand the profound effects of this form of medicine in managing stress, sports injuries, and overall well-being. These early experiences sparked my deep respect for holistic healing and ignited my lifelong interest in Eastern medicine.

I combine my healthcare experience with a genuine appreciation for Eastern medicine to offer a balanced, patient-centered approach to care. I would be honored to work with you on your healing journey.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time on the North Saskatchewan River and exploring the trails around Edmonton!
